Established in 2022, MRSC is working toward a future in which more Marylanders have access to affordable power — and more policymakers understand the many ways in which rooftop solar benefits the state.

Net Energy Metering Successor Program (PC 78)

The Utility RELIEF Act requires the Maryland Public Service Commission to establish a new Net Metering successor program by July 1, 2027, transitioning from the current NEM paradigm. As part of this transition, the PSC had to decide on the milestone that behind the meter projects must meet by July 1, 2027, to be eligible for grandfathering under the current NEM paradigm.
