MRSC
REVIVING ROOFTOP SOLAR
The residential market in MD has struggled since CEJA (Maryland Clean Energy Jobs Act) passed in 2019. Utility scale solar flourished while CEJA failed to support the residential sector from SREC incentives not differentiated between rooftop solar and other types of installations. Maryland needs an incentive program that will encourage the rooftop solar market to grow. With a current lack of reasonable solar incentives for homeowners, the result has led to a steady and rapid decline of installs.
Through collaborative and lobbying efforts, MRSC strives to provide valuable information on the economic impact of residential solar through education and advocacy for a change in the current Maryland market.
